Qingdao is a prefectural, coastal port city in the Shandong province of China with over 10.26 million inhabitants. They’re known for their beer, seafood, coastal beach views and German architecture. Originally a fishing village, much of Qingdao's architecture was influenced by Germany when the European country occupied the area in the late 1800's. This occupation also influenced their beer culture, leading to the cultivation of one of China's largest beer brands: Tsingtao. Yearly, Qingdao's International Beer Festival is a major event that is widely known.
